Manchester’s 25-year-old William Crolla is slated to make his return to boxing soon. Crolla, who commenced his professional journey earlier this year, emerged victorious in his debut bout. The younger sibling of former WBA lightweight champion Anthony Crolla, William previously squared off against Joe Hardy during the undercard fight of Leigh Wood and Mauricio Lara’s rematch in May.
The main highlight of the card is the defense of the WBA Inter-Continental title by Jack Catterall, who previously showcased his prowess against Darragh Foley. Catterall is now preparing to defend his title against former world champion Jorge Linares at the M&S Bank Arena. Linares, a 37-year-old veteran with a past streak as the WBC Diamond and WBA world lightweight champion, enters the bout after three successive defeats. Interestingly, following his own match, Crolla will be present at ringside, observing the bout between Catterall and Linares.
The event promises more excitement as Liverpool’s Paddy Lacey gears up for another bout, subsequent to his recent clash at Grand Central Hall on September 23. Furthermore, Aqib Fiaz and Reece Bellotti will contest for the vacant Commonwealth super-featherweight title, which also serves as the final eliminator for the British championship.
Peter McGrail, an erstwhile amateur standout who represented Team GB at the Tokyo Olympics, is also eyeing his first professional title. He is set to challenge undefeated Fran Mendoza for the vacant WBA Continental super-bantamweight belt. In another title defense for the same division, Shabaz Masoud will be making his Matchroom debut, facing off against José Sanmartin.
Rounding off the event’s lineup, Campbell Hatton, Muhammad Ali, and Khaleel Majid are confirmed participants. Majid is particularly anticipated to meet local competitor and former WBC International Silver super-lightweight title contender, Tom Farrell.
