Recently, Vasiliy Lomachenko has proven his critics wrong with a spectacular victory over former lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr. in Australia. Loma, a three-division champion who was believed to be nearing the end of his career, was in his prime and knocked out Kambosos with a series of body shots in the 11th round to win the vacant IBF lightweight title.
Top Rank President Todd duBoef mentioned the bucket of options available following Lomachenko’s fight, stating:
“He put on an outstanding show, and there are many fascinating possibilities here to evaluate."
One of them is WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis, who said that he would fight Lomachenko “in a Millennium Dream Match” after squaring off against Frank Martin. Moreover, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson has called out Lomachenko when promising “to offer a master class on how to beat Lomachenko.”
Another great possibility is to face off with the winner of the duel between three-division champion Navarrete and Denys Berinchyk. Since Navarrete fights for Top Rank, the battle with the Mexican native might be straightforward to arrange.
And what do you think? Who is gonna be his next opponent?
