In February, Tommy Fury, a rising light heavyweight prospect, engaged in an electrifying eight-round contest with Jake Paul, the YouTube sensation turned professional boxer. Despite being knocked down in the final round, Fury outperformed Paul throughout most of the bout, earning him a split decision victory from the official judges. This marked Paul's first encounter with a professional boxer, and interestingly, he was up against Fury, the younger sibling of Tyson Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion.

Their fight was subject to numerous delays, with previous schedules in 2021 and 2022 being canceled. Paul, leveraging his contractual right, could have demanded an immediate rematch. However, instead of opting for a second round against Fury, Paul decided to pursue a different path. He is now slated to face MMA star Nate Diaz on August 5th at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Fury and his team were left in the lurch, as they were never approached for a rematch discussion with Paul. “Nope, not once,” Fury revealed in his conversation with Talk Sport.

A potential rematch with Paul might still be on the horizon as Paul hinted on social media about a possible rematch in February 2024. But the specifics have not yet been communicated to Fury or his team. Meanwhile, Fury is contemplating various options for his next bout. One of the most profitable prospects is a face-off with another social media influencer-turned-boxer, KSI. The tension between the two escalated following a heated confrontation at KSI’s fight with Joe Fournier last May, when Fury and KSI had to be physically restrained, further stoking anticipation for a possible showdown.
