On August 26th, the world of boxing will see a familiar last name in the co-main event, featuring WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight champ, Oleksandr Usyk, and WBA mandatory challenger, Daniel Dubois. This name is Aadam Hamed, son of “Prince” Naseem Hamed, who will make his professional boxing debut that evening.
The 23-year-old Hamed will fight at an as yet unconfirmed weight, and his father expressed high hopes for his son’s future in the sport during the official press conference for the Poland card. Hamed Sr. expressed his pride and confidence in his son’s abilities, suggesting Aadam is a future star in boxing.
The young Hamed, stepping into a legacy established by his father, conveyed his ambitions to create his own identity in the sport. In his words, he's aiming to “fill his own boots and be the best version of himself.”
While some critics believe a professional debut should occur on a smaller stage, allowing young fighters to grow and learn without excessive pressure, the interest in Aadam’s debut is significant due to his last name. His father, “Prince” Naz, was a renowned figure in boxing in the 1990s and 2000s, recognized for his exciting style and powerful punches.
