The WBO welterweight champion Terence "Bud" Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs) will likely face Alexis Rocha (22-1, 14 KOs), Vergil Ortiz Jr. (19-0, 19 KOs), and maybe PBC contender Errol Spence Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) after possibly being signed by Oscar La Hoya to Golden Boy Promotions.
Crawford and De La Hoya revealed that they had productive conversations recently, and the latter believes he can immediately put Crawford against the third-ranked WBO 147-pound challenger Rocha, who defeated light welterweight George Ashie (33-6-1, 25 KOs) in a Golden Boy event in his previous fight.
“We’re looking forward to furthering our discussions. So maybe we can make a Rocha vs. Crawford fight. We can deliver whatever fights he wants. He’s the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world now. It’s a matter of strategizing and sitting down with him again. I have a good feeling that he liked what he heard with me and Hopkins.”
“Yeah, we can get him and Rocha, him and Vergil, and we can even get him & Errol Spence. So this is the way we work with other promoters. We want to make things happen. We want to make 2023 the biggest year for boxing,” said Oscar De La Hoya to Fight Hub TV.
