On Friday at Cache Creek Casino in Brooks, California, ShoBox: The Next Generation presented the main event, featuring a showdown between Shinard “Showtime” Bunch (20-1-1, 16 KOs) and Bryan “Nino Maravilla” Flores (23-0-1, 13 KOs) for the IBF USBA Super Lightweight title.
As a result of the fight, Bunch lost the bout to Flores over ten rounds.
Bunch actually started strong, scoring a first-round knockdown with a well-executed combination. However, he failed to maintain momentum and capitalize on his early advantage. Flores, on the other hand, demonstrated resilience, recovering from the knockdown and adopting a more aggressive approach. As the fight progressed, Flores outworked Bunch and ultimately claimed the title with a majority decision victory, showcasing his superior boxing skills and determination.
In the undercard, Jahyae “The Golden Child” Brown (13-1, 9 KOs) lost a majority decision to Guido “GES” Emmanuel Schramm (16-1-1, 9 KOs) in a hard-fought super welterweight contest. The two fighters engaged in a competitive battle, with Schramm ultimately being the busier of the two and securing the victory.
Also Raul Garcia (12-0-1, 10 KOs) and Robert “Tiger” Perry (9-0-1, 3 KOs) fought to a draw in a slow-paced super welterweight bout. The judges’ scores were split, with one judge favoring each fighter and the third scoring the bout even.
