Errol Spence Jr. will make his long-awaited return to the ring in January 2025 when he faces WBC/WBO junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora in Arlington, Texas. The bout, which will take place at either Cowboy Stadium or the training facility in Arlington, is expected to be a high-stakes matchup that could be broadcast on pay-per-view.

Spence, the former unified welterweight champion, will be stepping into the ring after an 18-month layoff, following his knockout loss to Terence Crawford. The fight against Fundora will also mark Spence's debut at 154 pounds. For Spence, now 34, this could be a do-or-die situation as he looks to prove he still has what it takes after years of injuries and long periods of inactivity.

On the other side, 26-year-old Sebastian Fundora holds a notable advantage in size, standing 6'6", and youth. Fundora is a well-known name among hardcore boxing fans, and this fight could further elevate his career, especially if he successfully defends his titles against Spence. Fundora's team may have opted for this fight due to Spence's popularity, which could bring in strong pay-per-view numbers.

Should Spence win, it could set the stage for a rematch with Crawford, provided the Nebraska native doesn’t retire. There are also other compelling matchups for Spence at 154 pounds if he manages to take Fundora’s belts.
