As a result of the event, Anthony Pettis managed to defeat Roy Jones Jr. by majority decision. The first round of their bout saw Pettis moving forward, while Jones Jr. countered with quick jabs and a leaping hook. The following rounds featured both fighters exchanging blows, with Jones Jr. relying on his jab, defense, and movement, while Pettis targeted the body. Throughout the bout, Jones Jr. showcased his signature style, baiting Pettis into making mistakes and delivering powerful counter shots. Round eight saw Pettis land a significant shot late in the round, but the back-and-forth nature of the fight continued, highlighting the skills and determination of both fighters.
Also on the card, in a cruiserweight boxing bout, ex-UFC champion Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort (2-0, 1 KOs), who recently defeated Evander Holyfield in a boxing exhibition, secured a six-round unanimous decision victory against MMA fighter Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. The 46-year-old Belfort knocked Souza down twice in the third round, but Souza persevered until the final bell.
In a separate welterweight boxing fight, UFC featherweight icon Jose Aldo and professional debutant Jeremy Stephens, a former MMA rival, fought to a six-round majority draw.
