WBO featherweight champion Robeisy Ramirez is all set for his next bout, with the date and venue confirmed. The only missing piece is his opponent. The Nevada State Athletic Commission has greenlit a November 4 date for a fight promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. The event will take place at the Tahoe Blue Event Center in Stateline, Nevada, with ESPN+ streaming Ramirez’s title defense as the main event.

Ramirez, a Cuban-born boxer with a record of 13-1 and 8 KOs, is free to choose his opponent for a voluntary defense since Joet Gonzalez, the WBO’s top featherweight contender, recently lost to IBF champ Luis Alberto Lopez. While Lopez has expressed interest in a title unification bout with Ramirez, it’s unlikely to happen so soon after his recent 12-round match against Gonzalez.

Having won two Olympic gold medals, Ramirez has solidified his position as one of the elite featherweights in the sport. He has remained undefeated in 13 bouts since his surprising loss in his professional debut in 2019. Bob Arum has hinted at a potential 2024 match-up between Ramirez and Japanese boxing sensation Naoya Inoue, contingent on Inoue’s decisions regarding weight class shifts.

Ramirez’s last victory was a defense of the WBO featherweight title he secured in April against Isaac Dogboe. This win followed a unanimous decision at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Ramirez and Dogboe vied for the then-vacant WBO featherweight title.
