Following the success of their “Magnificent Seven” event, Queensberry Promotions is gearing up for another multi-title extravaganza in Birmingham on March 16th. The card is expected to feature European super bantamweight champion Liam Davies, British middleweight champion Nathan Heaney, and former British super middleweight champion Zach Parker. Adding to the allure of the event is the heavyweight division’s excitement, including a notable bout involving Joe Joyce.
Joe Joyce (15-2, 14 KOs), after enduring back-to-back stoppage defeats to Zhilei Zhang, is set to face Kash Ali (21-2, 12 KOs). Joyce’s journey in the past year has been challenging. Beginning 2023 as the WBO’s interim champion, he seemed destined for significant matchups. However, Joyce found himself sidelined as the heavyweight division surged with new interest and investment, particularly from Saudi Arabia. His defeats to Zhang, especially the stunning knockout in their rematch, have left Joyce seeking to rebuild his career and confidence.
Kash Ali, known for his controversial disqualification against David Price in 2019 for biting, has since claimed six victories. However, his last outing was a decision loss to Bohdan Myronets. This upcoming fight against Joyce offers Ali a chance to prove himself against a high-profile opponent.
The event will also feature a critical English heavyweight title fight between Solomon Dacres (8-0, 2 KOs) and David Adeleye (12-1, 11 KOs). Dacres, who retained his title in a tough bout against Michael Webster, hopes to showcase his true potential against the ambitious and dangerous Adeleye. For Adeleye, this fight is crucial to rebound from his stoppage loss to Fabio Wardley and to establish his standing at the domestic level.
