Junior welterweight contender Jack Catterall sees his crucial bout against Regis Prograis as a pivotal moment that could lead to a world title shot. He’s eyeing potential bouts against top names like Teofimo Lopez or the winner of the upcoming IBF title fight between Liam Paro and Richardson Hitchins.
While Catterall has yet to secure world title glory, Prograis is looking to earn a third reign as champion. Catterall knows he’s facing a determined opponent. “I think the Regis I’m fighting next is a hungry and driven Regis,” he said. “He’s lost his belt, and he’ll be super motivated to get back on track. That gives me the fire in my belly knowing I’m getting a determined Regis coming to fight me in Manchester.”
Catterall is excited to be part of this high-stakes matchup, and after a period of inactivity, he feels ready to take on the division’s best. “The 140 division is stacked with great fighters, and I feel fit and well, ready to fight and be involved in these big fights,” he added. A win over Prograis would propel him to the top of the rankings and set him up for even bigger opportunities.
Confident in his abilities, Catterall believes his defensive skills and strategy will give him the edge over the powerful Prograis. “I think my defense is too good, and I can pick holes in him. If this turns into a dog fight, I’m ready for it,” said Catterall. “No matter what, I’m ready to dig deep and get my hand raised.”
