Ukraine’s postal service, Ukrposhta, has honored Oleksandr Usyk by releasing a special postage stamp featuring the undefeated heavyweight champion. The announcement comes ahead of Usyk’s December 21 rematch with Tyson Fury, set to air from the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The stamp not only celebrates Usyk’s achievements in boxing but also his role as a symbol of Ukrainian strength and pride.
Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smelyansky highlighted Usyk’s impact beyond the ring, stating, “Usyk’s image on the stamp is a message that ‘the world loves the strong.’ Strength is not always about muscles or missiles but about character, faith, and spirit.” Part of the proceeds from stamp sales will go to the Usyk Foundation charity. Smelyansky called Usyk a “symbol of invincibility for millions” and praised his ability to bring global attention to Ukraine.
Experts have weighed in on the upcoming fight. Andy Lee believes Fury will show improved conditioning and focus, while Frank Warren emphasized Fury’s deep boxing knowledge. Eddie Hearn pointed out that both fighters could bring adjustments to the ring, adding intrigue to the rematch. Sergio Mora highlighted the need for Fury to stick to a disciplined game plan if he hopes to reclaim victory.
The fight will take place at 9 p.m. local time in Saudi Arabia, with the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles on the line.
