The anticipated clash between Gervonta "Tank" Davis and Lamont Roach Jr. has been postponed from its original December 14 date at the Toyota Center in Houston. According to reports, the new targeted date is March 1, with Premier Boxing Champions yet to release an official confirmation.

Davis, the undefeated WBA lightweight champion, was last seen in the ring in June, when he stopped Frank Martin in the eighth round to retain his title. The Baltimore star, who just celebrated his 30th birthday, was set to defend his belt against Roach, the current WBA super featherweight champion stepping up in weight for this opportunity. Roach, 29, also fought in June, successfully defending his title with an eighth-round TKO over Feargal McCrory.

The undercard of the postponed event featured several high-profile bouts. A rematch between former champions Stephen Fulton and Brandon Figueroa was planned, alongside the return of former champion Jermall Charlo. It’s unclear if these matchups will also be rescheduled for March 1 or adjusted for another card.

The postponement leaves fans eager for clarification from Premier Boxing Champions, as the Davis vs. Roach bout was shaping up to be a significant event to close the year. Stay tuned for updates on what promises to be a thrilling showdown when the fighters eventually meet.
