A battle between Stephen Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs), the WBC and WBO super bantamweight champion, and Naoya "Monster" Inoue (23-0, 21 KOs) is expected to take place in Japan in the spring of 2023.

“Stephen Fulton and Naoya Inoue are engaged in talks for a unified 122-pound title fight,” said Mike Coppinger to ESPN.

If the negotiations are successful, Fulton would fight former three-division world champion, who will be vying for his fourth world championship against the native of Philadelphia.

Inoue will definitely be giving away size and reach to one of the top boxers in the world. It's safe to say that Fulton will eventually outbox Inoue if the latter doesn't score a knockout with one of his massive bombs.

Due to his propensity for loading up on his strikes and his pursuit of rapid knockouts, Japanese star Inoue has a low work rate and could be overwhelmed by Fulton's extremely high punch volume. Inoue will suffer if Fulton throws over a thousand punches or more, which he usually does in his bouts.
