Sean Gibbons, head of Manny Pacquiao’s promotional company, MP Promotions, has expressed interest in a possible matchup between the legendary Filipino boxer and unbeaten powerhouse Gervonta “Tank” Davis. Despite Pacquiao’s retirement from professional boxing in 2021, following a decision loss to Yordenis Ugas, the idea of a comeback fight, especially in Saudi Arabia, is gaining traction.

Gibbons believes that a fight between Pacquiao and Davis would be a highly entertaining event for boxing fans. “Manny and Gervonta Davis match up really well, and that would be a fun fight,” he stated. The challenge, according to Gibbons, lies in making the fight a reality. Saudi Arabia has emerged as a potential venue for this epic encounter, as Pacquiao enjoys significant popularity in the Middle East.

While Pacquiao has been focusing on exhibition matches since his retirement, the possibility of returning to the ring for a sanctioned fight remains open. Gibbons highlights Pacquiao’s remarkable fitness and enthusiasm for the sport, even at 45, noting that Pacquiao is still training at a high level.

The plan, as outlined by Gibbons, includes using an exhibition fight in Thailand on April 20th as a precursor to a bigger event in the summer, possibly in Saudi Arabia, the United States, or England. Pacquiao, who is considering a return to politics, views this year as possibly his last in boxing.

Saudi Arabia is touted as the ideal location for Pacquiao’s final bout. Discussions are underway, and Pacquiao is in talks with His Excellency Turki Alalshikh about the potential fight. Gibbons also mentioned the possibility of revisiting matchups with Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, suggesting that Pacquiao could easily take on such exhibitions even at an advanced age.
