On yesterday’s fight night, young Callum “King” Walsh (6-0, 5 KOs) came to Boston intending to fight his first 10-round main event against Wesley Tucker (15-5, 9 KOs).
The junior middleweight knocked Wesley Tucker down thrice in the second round using rapid combinations, ultimately leading to the referee stopping the fight at 2:59 of the second round. Although Tucker appeared lucid and capable of continuing, it was pointless to do so.
Walsh was originally preparing for a conventional style opponent named Leonardo Di Stefano Ruiz, but he had to be replaced by the 5-foot-5, left-handed Tucker due to a broken hand in sparring.
However, the change in opponents did not alter Walsh's plans, as he aimed to impress a surprisingly large crowd at Agganis Arena for his Boston debut. Walsh quickly forced Tucker to retreat, unleashing a flurry of punches as Tucker searched for an opening to counter. Despite connecting early with a left hook, Walsh persisted with his attack.
