George Kambosos Jr. has touched down in Perth, Australia, for his fight against Vasily Lomachenko at the RAC Arena.
Kambosos, the IBO 135-lb champion with a record of 21-2, must replicate his performance against Lopez to stand a chance against Lomachenko. Fans largely anticipate Lomachenko to dominate the bout, expecting a one-sided 12-round unanimous decision. Despite being younger and larger, Kambosos faces a massive challenge against Lomachenko, whose skill is considered to be on another level.

The boxing community has mixed views on Kambosos, with some labeling him as a 'one-hit wonder' following his surprise win against a less-than-optimal Lopez in November 2021 at Madison Square Garden. Since then, Kambosos has experienced significant bouts, including losses to Devin Haney.
Upon arriving in Perth, Kambosos expressed his readiness and focus, dismissing any notion that this trip was a leisure excursion. "It’s great to be here in Perth. All the hard work has been done," Kambosos stated, emphasizing the rigorous training camp he's undergone. "We’re extremely focused... It’s time to fight. That’s what we’re here for. We’re here to fight, not for a holiday or to do any fishing. We’re here for a true war."
