Rising middleweight prospect Hamzah Sheeraz has expressed his disappointment over Chris Eubank Jr.'s decision to face Kamil Szeremeta on October 12, rather than engaging in a clash with him. Sheeraz, who had been hoping for a fight against Eubank, shared his frustration with iFL TV's Joe Pugh, stating, "I was disappointed as a potential opponent. Disappointed as a boxing purist. Disappointed as a casual. Disappointed as a human."

Sheeraz compared Eubank’s approach to that of Terence Crawford, who took on a tough opponent in Israil Madrimov after a long layoff, saying fighters at the elite level shouldn’t require a "warm-up" bout. Eubank last fought in September 2023, when he secured a 10th-round technical knockout victory over Liam Smith, and his upcoming bout with Szeremeta will mark the end of a 13-month hiatus. Szeremeta, who was previously stopped by Gennady Golovkin and Jaime Munguia, has since gone 4-0-2 against lesser-known opposition.

Eubank has described his fight with Szeremeta as an opportunity to shake off the ring rust and reintroduce himself to the Saudi boxing scene, stating that the fight will put him in a position for future megafights. However, Sheeraz, ranked highly across various sanctioning bodies and sitting at No. 3 in The Ring magazine’s middleweight rankings, believes a fight with Eubank would be far more significant.

Sheeraz, who has made a name for himself by knocking out Liam Williams and Austin "Ammo" Williams this year, has repeatedly called for a fight with Eubank. Frustrated by Eubank’s decision to face Szeremeta instead, Sheeraz believes it’s up to Eubank to make the fight happen and had harsh words for the British middleweight, saying, *"It’s all down to him… Then he’s just being a pu$$y, and it’s as simple as that."

With Sheeraz on the brink of a potential world title shot, he remains focused on his career trajectory but still hopes for a future clash with Eubank, confident that the fight could materialize once he secures a championship.
