Two boxing events took place on yesterday’s fight night in United Kingdom, in which Nathan Heaney (17-0, 6 KOs) fought against Jack Flatley (20-4-1, 4 KOs) and Lawrence Okolie (19-0, 14 KOs) squared off with David Light (20-1, 12 KOs).
In a highly anticipated rematch, Nathan “Hitman” Heaney outclassed Jack “Quiet Storm” Flatley once again, securing a unanimous decision victory with scores of 99-91 and 97-93 twice. Heaney’s skillful use of his jab and movement stifled Flatley's offense throughout the bout. Although Flatley found some success in getting inside Heaney’s range and briefly stunning him in the final round, it was not enough to turn the tide.
In the co-main event Ionut “Il Capo” Baluta (16-4, 3 KOs) staged an incredible comeback to snatch a split-decision win against former WBC International Silver champion Andrew Cain (10-1, 9 KOs).
In a second event, Lawrence Okolie retained his WBO cruiserweight title on points against David Light, despite failing to make a significant impression. Okolie sought to assert his dominance in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, but his struggle to deal with Light’s resistance resulted in an unmemorable contest. Although Light’s unbeaten record now bears a loss, the New Zealander demonstrated commendable resilience throughout the fight.
In the co-main event, Michael Gomez Jr. (19-1, 5 KOs) beat Levi Giles (13-1, 3 KOs) on a tight split decision to win the English super-featherweight title.
