After Ryan Garcia’s recent victory over Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis has publicly suggested that Garcia should retire from boxing.
Davis, who previously defeated Garcia thinks that continuing to fight could lead to serious harm for Garcia. Despite this, Garcia dropped Haney three times during their match at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and secured a majority decision win, even amid pre-fight controversies including a significant weigh-in issue.
The rivalry between Garcia and Davis remains intense. Following Garcia’s win, Davis, the current WBA lightweight champion, hinted on social media that a rematch would end the same way as their first encounter, where Davis stopped Garcia in seven rounds. In response, Garcia called out Davis on the social media platform X, challenging him to a fight at 144 pounds and dismissing any further verbal exchanges.
This ongoing saga captures the attention of boxing fans who are intrigued by the possibility of a rematch, especially given the financial success of their first fight, which was one of the highest-grossing bouts in Nevada boxing history.
