It is anticipated that the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) will withhold approval for Chris Eubank Jr.’s (32-3, 23 KOs) scheduled bout against Conor Benn (21-0, 14 KOs) in Abu Dhabi this coming June.

The two combatants had initially planned to face off in October of 2022, but the contest was called off upon the disclosure that Benn had tested positive for the prohibited substance, clomifene. Instead of engaging with the Board to address the test results, Benn relinquished his license and has remained inactive ever since.

Should Eubank Jr. proceed with the Benn matchup without the Board's consent, he risks having his fighting license suspended, and it appears unlikely that the BBBofC will grant him such permission.

Although Benn is no longer subject to the BBBofC’s clearance, having already surrendered his license, both his and Eubank Jr.’s training teams would still need to secure the Board's approval.
