In recent weeks, an intense feud has been brewing between Matchroom's promoter Eddie Hearn and Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Oscar De La Hoya. Despite sharing an exclusive content deal with the streaming service, DAZN, their professional relationship has been marked by a series of heated exchanges. De La Hoya's critical commentary on Hearn's recent event, headlined by Regis Prograis vs. Danielito Zorrilla, has stoked the flames of their discord.

The tension was further intensified by reports that Mexican boxing superstar, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, severed ties with Matchroom to ink a multi-fight deal with Premier Boxing Champions. Hearn has responded to De La Hoya's actions and remarks, insinuating that the Golden Boy Promotions CEO is preoccupied with him and as a result, has dropped the ball with his own fighters. Despite this ongoing feud, Hearn has professed his respect for De La Hoya, noting his prowess as a fighter.

However, De La Hoya isn't the only one Hearn is squaring off with. He has a history of trading verbal punches with Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, and several promoters from PBC. But according to Hearn, this is all a part of being a major player in the boxing promotion world. Despite the pushback, Hearn asserts that Matchroom's global footprint and strong roster, boasting names like Canelo Alvarez and Katie Taylor, place the company in a robust position. For Hearn, moving forward is key, regardless of the opposition from other promoters.
