Welterweight contender Cody Crowley has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled fight against IBF titleholder Jaron "Boots" Ennis, which was set for July 13 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia because he failed a pre-fight eye exam, as reported by ESPN's Mike Coppinger.
Crowley was aiming to end an 18-month hiatus from the ring following his majority decision win over Abel Ramos. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, he has managed to fight only once per year, making this bout a significant opportunity for his career.

His opponent, Ennis, recently joined Matchroom Boxing and was promoted to IBF titleholder after the sanctioning body stripped Terence Crawford of the belt. This fight was to mark Ennis's debut as a titleholder and as a Matchroom Boxing fighter in his hometown of Philadelphia, but seems like it might not be the case.
Nevertheless, the new opponent is now being searched and everyone is eager to see who will step in to face Ennis.
