In a surprising turn of events, Chantelle Cameron has ended her coaching relationship with Jamie Moore. The announcement was made during the press conference for the Josh Taylor-Jack Catterall rematch in Manchester. Moore, who also trains Catterall, expressed that the split was amicable, though he admitted to being in the dark about the specific reasons behind Cameron’s decision.

Moore, while speaking to Pro Box Boxing Fans, shared, “I have no idea to be honest with you, me and Chantelle aren’t working together anymore. We just decided to go our separate ways.” Despite the sudden split, Moore conveyed his well wishes for Cameron, reflecting on their successful partnership with affection and pride.

Cameron, who transitioned to Moore’s guidance in 2019 after starting her career with Shane McGuigan, achieved significant milestones under his tutelage. Notably, she became the undisputed junior welterweight women’s champion by unifying all four belts in a victory over Jessica McCaskill. Following this triumph, Cameron defended her titles in Ireland against the iconic Katie Taylor, winning by majority decision. However, in their rematch last November, Taylor emerged victorious, leveling their head-to-head record.

Moore, reflecting on their time together, stated, “We didn’t fall out, I wish her all the best. I will always love her, we had a great ride together, but we are not working together now.” The boxing community has been buzzing with anticipation for a decisive third fight between Taylor and Cameron, yet Moore has confirmed that he is unaware of any developments regarding this potential bout.

The coaching change comes at a crucial juncture in Cameron’s career, as she eyes further legacy-defining fights. Moore, a respected figure in the boxing world who has previously coached the likes of Carl Frampton, Martin Murray, and Rocky Fielding, continues to train a stable of fighters, including Jack Catterall, Cameron Vuong, and Aqib Fiaz. As Cameron embarks on this new chapter, the boxing world watches closely to see who will be guiding her corner in the anticipated trilogy against Katie Taylor.
