Devin Haney has observed a notable increase in ticket sales for his upcoming bout against Ryan Garcia, attributing the uptick to Garcia’s arrival in New York.

The two are scheduled to compete for the WBC super lightweight world title on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, headlining a DAZN pay-per-view event. Initially, ticket sales suffered due to uncertainties surrounding Garcia’s participation, fueled by his erratic social media behavior, which Haney describes as trolling.

In an interview on “Way Up With Angela Yee,” Haney expressed that Garcia’s unpredictable actions had cast doubt over the fight’s occurrence, impacting early ticket sales negatively. But, with Garcia now being in New York and visibly committed to the bout, fans are reassured, and sales have significantly improved.

Garcia, known for his substantial social media following and controversial antics, had previously pointed fingers at Haney for the sluggish sales. The tension between the two escalated during a promotional event at the Empire State Building, where a physical altercation only fueled public interest.

Haney remains focused on the fight itself, choosing not to delve into the motivations behind Garcia’s behavior. He is pleased that ticket sales are now reflecting the high anticipation for what promises to be a thrilling contest between two of boxing’s most prominent young talents.
