Undefeated William “El Camarón” Zepeda (27-0, 23 KOs) defends his WBA Continental Americas lightweight title against former world champion challenger Jaime “Jaimito” Arboleda (19-2, 14 KOs). The two pugilists engage in a 12-round lightweight fight on DAZN.
Despite a change in the headline, the much-anticipated event still takes place at College Park Center at The University of Texas at Arlington campus. The tickets are already available on Golden Boy Promotions website.
Previously, Golden Boy Chairman and CEO, Oscar De La Hoya, praised Zepeda saying, “In an absolutely stacked lightweight division, I don’t think there is anyone I would favor over Zepeda.” However, he also acknowledged Arboleda’s ability to surprise, as other fighters have been favored over him before only to taste defeat.
The co-main event promises a thrilling 10-round featherweight fight between Diego De La Hoya (24-1, 11 KOs) and his opponent Victor Morales (17-0-1, 8 KOs).
In another captivating bout, Raul “El Cugar” Curiel (12-0, 10 KOs) participates in a 10-round welterweight fight against Frederick Lawson (29-3, 22 KOs). Also WBA and WBC female flyweight world champion Marlen Esparza (13-1, 1 KOs) is set to defend her titles against the undefeated Gabriela Alaniz (14-0, 6 KOs).
