Matchroom Boxing will return to Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on 23 August with an all-Australian lightweight main event and the comeback of former featherweight champion Skye Nicolson.
Headliner Jake Wyllie (17-2, 16 KOs) drops to 135 lbs for the first time since 2021 to face Sydney veteran Youssef Dib (21-3, 11 KOs) in a ten-round crossroads clash. Wyllie, 25, rebounded from a points defeat to George Kambosos Jnr in March by icing Saharat Taehirun in a single round the following month. Dib, 32, seeks to halt a skid that includes consecutive losses to Liam Wilson; he has dropped three of his last four after opening his career 20-0.
In chief support, Meadowbrook’s Skye Nicolson (13-1, 2 KOs) begins her pursuit of a second world title, this time at super-bantamweight, against India’s in-form Urvashi Singh (12-3, 7 KOs). Nicolson, 29, regained momentum with a stoppage of Carla Camila Campos Gonzales on 5 July after losing her featherweight belt via split decision to Tiara Brown in March. Singh, 30, rides a four-fight winning streak and owns a victory on Australian soil, having outpointed Thanchanok Phanan last December.
