On December 11, Australian-based Irish light heavyweight contender Conor Wallace (14-1, 10 KOs) will headline "Xmas Cracker" at the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Wallace, ranked No. 2 by the IBF, No. 5 by the WBO, and No. 6 by the WBC, is set to face South Africa’s Asemahle "The Predator" Wellem (7-0-1, 3 KOs) in a 10-round bout. Wallace, who has five prior stoppage victories at the same venue, aims to continue his winning streak as he eyes a world title shot in 2025. "I'm ready for a world title shot, but I'm not looking past Wellem," Wallace stated. Meanwhile, Wellem promised an early finish, saying, "Conor Wallace won’t see the final bell."
The main support bout features fringe heavyweight contender Justis Huni (10-0, 5 KOs) taking on Argentine southpaw Leandro "La Bestia" Robutti (11-6, 8 KOs) over eight rounds. Huni, ranked No. 15 by the IBF and No. 5 by the WBO, will seek to build momentum after a shaky final round against Kevin Lerena in March. Promoter Mick Francis remarked, "Justis needs to keep fighting. Inactivity kills fighters… but he is still right up there with the most promising heavyweights in the world."
Additional bouts on the card include an all-southpaw eight-round contest between Austin "Sugar Free" Aokuso (7-0, 3 KOs) and Lucas "Thrilla" Miller (12-7-2, 4 KOs). Australian featherweight champion Tyler Blizzard (8-0, 4 KOs) will face Chengcheng Yang (7-6, 4 KOs) of China, known for upsetting Rocky Ogden earlier this year. Super middleweight Max McIntyre (5-0, 4 KOs), welterweight Danny Keating (8-0, 4 KOs), and middleweight Xavier Fletcher (3-0, 3 KOs) are also slated to appear.
