Boston Boxing Promotions is all set to bring an exciting Junior Middleweight clash to the Thanksgiving Eve Boxing Spectacular. The event, scheduled at the Castleton in Windham, New Hampshire, will feature former WBA World title challenger Greg Vendetti (23-5-1, 12 KOs) in an eight-round fight against Argentina’s Geronimo Nahuel Sacco (10-7-1, 2 KOs).
Vendetti, hailing from Stoneham, Massachusetts, is preparing for his first fight in his local area since 2019. This homecoming bout presents a fantastic opportunity for his supporters to see him perform live. “I’m excited to be fighting locally again... It’s going to be a lot of fun fighting in front of my friends and family again,” Vendetti expressed.
His journey since his last Boston Boxing Promotions event in 2013 has been remarkable. Vendetti embarked on a significant winning streak from 2015 to 2018, achieving notable victories over several opponents, including a major upset win over Japanese former world title challenger Yoshishiro Kamegai on ESPN in 2018. Vendetti’s efforts led to a title challenge against WBA Super Welterweight Champion Erislandy Lara in 2020, where he showcased his skills on national television despite a unanimous decision loss.
Geronimo Nahuel Sacco, coming from Argentina, is eager to make a statement in the United States. With experience against prospects like Fernando Vargas Jr. and Matthew Rodriguez, Sacco views the bout with Vendetti as a golden opportunity to establish himself on the international boxing scene. “Much like Vendetti made a name for himself pulling upsets, I plan to do the same to him,” Sacco stated, reflecting his ambition to upset the local favorite.
