Jovanni "Impacto" Straffon (24-5-1, 17 KOs) is determined to reclaim his winning form as he prepares to face off against Jesus Bravo (21-9-1, 18 KOs) at Recinto Ferial De la Feria De San Isidro in Metepec, Mexico. After a triumphant victory over James Tennyson, which earned him the IBO world lightweight title in 2021, Straffon unfortunately lost the belt to Maxi Hughes just four months later. Adding to the challenge, he faced another setback with a defeat against Zaur Abdullaev a year later, resulting in a two-fight losing streak leading up to this weekend's highly anticipated showdown.
On the other hand, Jesus Bravo enters the ring with confidence, coming off a recent impressive performance—a second-round stoppage against Michael Suarez (5-1-1, 3KOs) in March.
As these two skilled fighters collide, anticipation builds for an electrifying bout that could determine the future trajectory of their careers.
In the co-main event, local boxer Ricardo "Capi" Tellez (7-1-0, 5 KOs) will face his fellow countryman Juan Carlos "Demoledor" Ramirez (5-3-0, 0 KOs) in an eight-round lightweight battle for the Lightweight Championship of the State of Mexico.
In an international showdown, former Russian CISBB champion of the World Boxing Council, Valerii Oganisian (5-0-0, 3 KOs), will take on Colombian fighter Didier Castillo (7-2-1, 5 KOs) in an eight-round super lightweight bout.
Also in action will be Mexico City's César Soriano Jr., Italian fighter Camilla Pannatta, knockout artist Edwin "Muralla" Espinosa from Chiapas, and local talent Ariel "Chino" Gonzalez, among others.
The event will kick off at 6:30 pm ET with amateur bouts featuring Toritos by Miura Boxing, followed by the professional fights starting at 7:00 pm. The broadcast will begin at 10:00 pm ET on TVC Deportes for Mexico and DAZN for Latin America, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
