The World Boxing Association is set to bring its traditional "KO a las Drogas" festival back to Buenos Aires this weekend, with an exciting lineup of fights taking place at the Casino Buenos Aires. The festival, co-promoted by Sampson Boxing and Tello Box, will feature three thrilling events spread over two days, with broadcast coverage provided by TyC Sports across the Americas and DAZN worldwide.
One of the festival's standout matchups is the fight for the vacant WBA women's super bantamweight world title. Argentina’s undefeated Nazarena "Capricho" will take on Mexico’s Paulette Valenzuela Cuesta on Saturday night. Romero, a 30-year-old from Catamarca, will face a tough challenge in Cuesta, a 33-year-old fighter from Tijuana, who is making her second attempt at a world title after narrowly losing her first chance in 2021.
Cuesta, known as "The Heiress," comes into the fight with high aspirations, having recently defeated Cristina Hernández in February. However, Romero, who is eager to claim the vacant title after her previous opponent Érika Cruz was stripped following a positive anti-doping test, will have the home crowd behind her as she looks to secure her place among the elite in women’s boxing.
