The two-time super lightweight champion Regis Prograis (28-1, 24 KOs) will now defend his WBC title by fighting against Danielito Zorrilla (17-1, 13 KOs) in the 12-round main event at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Originally, Prograis was supposed to defend his title against unbeaten Australian boxing star Liam Paro (23-0, 14 KOs), but Paro is out due to an injury.
Paro, ranked #3 with the WBO and #4 with the IBF, is ready to make his mark in the 140lbs division by challenging the top contender. In response to the match announcement, Paro said, “I have been dreaming about fights like this my whole life. What better way to make a mark on the 140lbs division than taking out the top guy. This is what it’s all about. I’m coming.”

Eddie Hearn believes Prograis’ addition to Matchroom’s lineup will make the 140lb division even more thrilling. He said, “I am so excited to welcome Regis to the Matchroom team. The 140lb division is fast becoming the most exciting in the sport, littered with big names and glamour fights, so to have the WBC king in the team is a massive coup for us.”
Hearn also expressed excitement about promoting their first event in New Orleans and expected more great locations and big-name signings as their partnership with DAZN continue to grow.
