Angelo Pena (9-0, 6 KOs) is set to face Japan’s Hiroki Hanabusa (13-2-5, 5 KOs) this Saturday at Mobiliar Arena in Bern for the WBO Inter-Continental super-featherweight title, marking the biggest test of his career so far.
“I don’t have time to lose. In two years, I want to become a world champion,” said Pena, emphasizing his ambitions beyond this fight.
In the co-main event, Christopher Mouafo (9-1, 6 KOs) will take on the Philippines’ Jonniel Laurente (10-1-1, 5 KOs) for the WBO Global lightweight title.
Mouafo is eager for this opportunity, calling it the most important fight of his career. “It’s a dream come true for me. I’ve waited long for this and worked hard. I’m very happy,” he said.
Also on the card, Ramadan Hiseni (19-1-2, 7 KOs) will face Eugeniusz Makarczuk (10-0, 4 KOs) in a 10-round middleweight bout. Georgi Svechev (3-0, 2 KOs) squares off against Alexandru Crasnitchii (5-7-1, 2 KOs) in a 6-round light-heavyweight clash, while Simon Vollmer (5-0, 2 KOs) meets Tzemal Houseinoglou (4-7-2, 0 KOs) in a 6-round super-lightweight contest.
