Jean Pascal (36-6-1, 20 KOs) and Michael Eifert (11-1, 4 KOs) meet each other in the IBF light heavyweight title eliminator in Canada. The winner will be an official IBF mandatory challenger to Artur Beterbiev, the current IBF world champion.
The bout between the fighters was initially scheduled to take place on February 9, but it was postponed because Pascal tested positive for COVID.
Jean Pascal is an Athens Olympian in 2004. In addition to holding the WBA title from 2019 to 2020, he was the WBC light heavyweight champion from 2009 to 2011. He has fought for 12 world titles, winning the first one in 2008 in England against Carl Froch and the last one in Atlanta against Badou Jack eleven years later. He got to know all the top light heavyweights of his generation during this time, including Adrian Diaconu, Chad Dawson, Bernard Hopkins, Lucian Bute, Sergey Kovalev, and Dmitry Bivol.
His opponent, german Michael Eifert, 24, resides in Magdeburg. He has been a professional since 2018, and in 2020, he suffered his lone defeat by a majority decision against Tom Dzemski. The following year, he exacted revenge by claiming the IBF Youth and WBC Youth world titles. He defeated Italian Adriano Sperandio in his most recent fight to win the IBF Inter-Continental light heavyweight title, which qualified him for this title eliminator against Pascal.
The co-main event features popular Mathieu "G-Time" Germain (21-2-1, 9 KOs) against Steven Wilcox (24-3-1, 7 KOs).
