Undefeated Joshua James Pagan (10-0, 4 KOs) will face veteran Haskell Rhodes (31-6, 16 KOs) in the main event of "BIG TIME BOXING USA" at the iconic Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The 10-round lightweight clash, airing live globally on DAZN, comes after Rhodes stepped in as a late replacement for Trevor Thonson, who faced travel issues.
Pagan, a Michigan-born fighter of Puerto Rican descent, has built an impressive resume, including a hard-fought unanimous decision win in May over previously undefeated Roger Hilley. The 24-year-old, known as "Double J," currently holds the Junior NABF Super Lightweight title and is trained by his father, Victor Pagan. He’ll continue his preparations at the renowned gym of Puerto Rican boxing legend Ivan Calderon.
Veteran Haskell Rhodes, 36, brings experience and power to the ring, with notable wins against top contenders and former world champions. Rhodes, a native of Oklahoma, is coming off two knockout victories in 2024, including a first-round stoppage in his last outing against Jonathan Perez. According to promoter Dmitriy Salita, Rhodes presents a tough stylistic challenge for the young Pagan, making this bout a must-see.
The co-main event will see light heavyweight Juan Carrillo (12-0, 9 KOs) taking on Lenin Castillo (25-5-1, 19 KOs) in a 10-round contest. Also on the card, unbeaten middleweight Da’Velle Smith (9-0, 7 KOs) from Michigan will fight in a six-round bout. The televised portion begins at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT and will also feature local fighter Allen Morales making his professional debut in a four-round bantamweight bout.
