Fight Details

Unbeaten Junto Nakatani (28-0, 21 KOs) returns to the ring on October 14 to defend his WBC bantamweight title against Thailand’s Petch Sor Chitpattana (76-1, 53 KOs) at Ariake Arena in Tokyo. This marks Nakatani’s third fight in 2024 and his second title defense, following a first-round stoppage victory over Vincent Astrolabio in July. Nakatani, 26, claimed his third division world title in February by defeating Alexandro Santiago via sixth-round TKO.

Petch Sor Chitpattana comes into the fight with an impressive 28-fight win streak. The 30-year-old southpaw previously challenged for the interim WBC bantamweight title in 2018, losing a unanimous decision to Takuma Inoue. In his latest bout, Chitpattana secured a unanimous decision over GuiMing Li, positioning him for another shot at a major world title.

The co-main event of the night will see Japanese kickboxing star-turned-boxer Tenshin Nasukawa (4-0, 2 KOs) take on Gerwin Asilo (9-0, 4 KOs) of the Philippines for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight title. Nasukawa, unbeaten in four professional boxing fights, looks to continue his rise in the sport as he squares off against the undefeated Filipino prospect.

In another exciting 12-round bout, Japan’s Kosei Tanaka (20-1, 11 KOs) defends his WBO junior bantamweight title against South Africa’s unbeaten Phumelele Cafu (10-0-3, 8 KOs). Additionally, LA’s Anthony Olascuaga (7-1, 5 KOs) will defend his WBO flyweight title against Puerto Rican light flyweight champion Jonathan Gonzalez (28-3-1, 14 KOs), rounding out an action-packed card.
