Spanish fighter Cristobal Lorente (18-0-1, 8 KOs), formerly the European Silver Featherweight champion and now the official contender for the EBU Featherweight title, is set to challenge reigning champion Mauro Forte (19-0-2, 8 KOs) of Italy. The Italian promoter Opi Since 82 has reached a private negotiation agreement with Lorente's team to organize this significant bout.
For Mauro Forte, ranked No. 13 by the WBC and No. 12 by the WBO, this will mark the second defense of the title he claimed on May 5 by defeating Francesco Grandelli with a first-round knockout. Forte's impressive record and ranking make this an eagerly anticipated title defense.
To secure this fight, Lorente has relinquished the EBU Silver Title he won in March in Barcelona by defeating former European champion Andoni Gago in three rounds. This victory solidified Lorente’s position as a top contender and set the stage for his upcoming challenge against Forte.
