Yah Filmworks & Promotion is bringing boxing back to Georgia with a bang on November 23rd at the Tara Event Center in Jonesboro, just outside Atlanta. The event, titled “The South Got Something 2 Say Bout Boxing,” is spearheaded by former two-time world champion Yahya McClain, known for promoting big fights like Laila Ali’s and the Ali/Frazier IV showdown.
The main event will see local favorite Hakim “Tito” Lopez (14-1, 9 KOs) taking on veteran Cleotis Pendarvis (22-23-2, 9 KOs) in a light heavyweight contest. In the co-main event, Sharif Rahman (8-0, 4 KOs), son of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, steps into the ring. Adding to the star-studded lineup, Hasim Rahman Jr. (13-2, 6 KOs) returns to action against seasoned fighter Dell Long (7-13-2, 4 KOs) in a heavyweight clash.
The undercard features a mix of rising talents and seasoned pros representing the South, particularly the Atlanta area. Among the highlights: Jaquan Carty (7-0, 5 KOs) vs. Antonio Todd (17-11, 9 KOs) in a 10-round middleweight bout, William Foster III (17-2, 11 KOs) takes on veteran Jayson Velez (30-16-1, 21 KOs) in an 8-round light bout, Money Powell IV (13-2, 8 KOs) faces Victor Hugo Exner (11-17-3, 5 KOs) over six rounds at light heavyweight and Morgan Griggie (7-0, 4 KOs) clashes with Lenwood Dozier (10-38-3, 5 KOs) in a welterweight showdown.
Moreover, Darrion Lawson (3-0, 3 KOs) and Trakwon Pettis (4-1, 1 KOs) will also step into the ring, aiming to maintain their undefeated records.
