Former world champion Mauricio “Bronco” Lara (27-3-2, 20 KOs) is set to return to the ring at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, squaring off against Edwing Davila (21-2, 11 KOs). The 10-round super featherweight matchup marks Lara’s first appearance since his seventh-round TKO win over Pedro Alejandro Delgado last August. Before that, the 26-year-old fought Daniel Lugo to a majority draw in February 2024, following a tough loss of his WBA featherweight belt in a rematch against Leigh Wood in May 2023.
Davila, hailing from Aguascalientes, Mexico, brings a three-fight winning streak into this contest. Now based in Montreal, the 30-year-old defeated Diego Andrade Chavez by unanimous decision last November and had earlier victories over Pablo Polanco Fernández and Maximino Toala.
Also scheduled for action is Rogelio Romero (1-0, 1 KO) from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, making just his second pro appearance. The 29-year-old kicked off his pro career in November with a first-round stoppage of Edgar Gonzalez Ramos.
