Kazuto Ioka’s (31-2-1, 16 KO) and Fernando Martinez’s (16-0, 9 KO) WBA/IBF super flyweight unification fight is set to take place on July 7th at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan.

While there is no confirmation of a broadcast in the United States, previous ABEMA shows have aired on DAZN when they partnered with Matchroom. It is likely they will partner with PBC here, potentially making the fight available on Amazon Prime.

Despite being a four-division champion, 35-year-old Ioka has not unified belts since defeating Akira Yaegashi for the WBA and WBC minimumweight titles in 2012. His last unification attempt resulted in a draw against Joshua Franco in 2022. Although he defeated Franco in their rematch six months later, Ioka had to vacate his WBO belt to avoid a mandatory defense against Junto Nakatani.

Ioka had been aiming for a fight against WBC champion Juan Francisco Estrada. However, with Estrada set to face "Bam" Rodriguez, Ioka will instead take on the formidable Fernando Martinez. The Argentinean slugger, known for his power and resilience, has traveled extensively for his fights, including bouts in South Africa, Argentina, Dubai, and the United States, and poses a significant challenge for Ioka.
