Osleys Iglesias (12-0, 11 KOs) is gearing up for his next big test on November 7, where he will defend his IBO super middleweight title against undefeated Ukrainian Petro Ivanov (18-0-2, 13 KOs) at Montreal Casino. The Cuban rising star, known as “El Tornado,” boasts a perfect record since turning professional in 2019, and he’s quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the super middleweight division.

Ahead of his fight, Iglesias shared how his preparation has been going smoothly, working closely with his team to sharpen his technique and strategies. ”Training for my fight against Petro Ivanov is going very well,” Iglesias told World Boxing News. ”We’re focusing on technique, sparring, and specific strategies. I feel ready, motivated, and well-prepared for the fight.”

Iglesias respects his opponent but remains confident. “Ivanov is a talented fighter, but I’m prepared to show my skills. I expect an intense and challenging fight, and the spectators can expect a spectacular performance.”

Since capturing the IBO title in his eighth pro fight, Iglesias has made significant strides in the super middleweight division, including a standout win over former title challenger Isaac Chilemba. Now, his goal is to face the best, with eyes set on a future clash against Canelo Alvarez or David Benavidez.

“It is common knowledge that if you want to be the best, you must face the best,” Iglesias said. “If the opportunity to fight Canelo or Benavidez comes, it’s one I wouldn’t miss.”
