Toro Promotions and Whitfield Haydon Boxing are set to inaugurate the international pro boxing scene for the year with their “Pit Stop on Road to Greatness” card. This exciting event, featuring six of boxing’s leading heavyweight prospects, will take place at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington, and will be streamed live on bxngtv.com.
The 10-round main event is one to watch, showcasing Armenian heavyweight Gurgen “Big Gug” Hovhannisyan (4-0, 4 KOs), trained by Hall of Famer Joe Goossen, against the formidable Colby Madison (11-6-2, 7 KOs). Hovhannisyan, who lives in Los Angeles, enters the ring after more than a year's absence, following his victory over Michael Polite Coffie.
The event opens with a promising eight-round heavyweight bout between Dante Stone (14-1, 10 KOs) and Alexander “The Great” Flores (18-3-1, 16 KOs). Stone, from Chandler, Arizona, has been on a winning streak since his debut loss in 2018, while Flores, hailing from California, has only been defeated by world champions.
Ukrainian Olympian Tsotne Rogava (3-0, 3 KOs), another heavyweight contender trained by Joe Goossen, will face undefeated Dante Williams (4-0, 4 KOs) in a six-round co-feature. Rogava, a champion kickboxer, will bring his unique skills to the ring.
Adding international flavor to the event are Nicaraguan brothers Nilo (6-0, 5 KOs) and Nelson Guerrero. Nilo, an undefeated super featherweight, will compete against Chancellor Battenberg (4-3, 4 KOs), while Nelson makes his pro debut in the bantamweight division against Gilberto Duran (4-7, 4 KOs).
Completing the card, Elijah Seawright (9-0, 7 KOs), a TikTok sensation from South Carolina, will face Henry Rivera (2-2, 1 KO) in a six-rounder in the super welterweight category. The undercard will also feature Seattle’s Agustin Tovar (0-1) against Nathan “Superman” Stolen, and Agustin Tovar's debut against Ezra Rabin (1-4, 1 KO) from Oakland.
