Undefeated super-featherweight prospect Ryan Garner (16-0, 8 KOs) is set to headline a March 1st card at the Bournemouth International Centre against unbeaten Spaniard Salvador Jimenez (14-0-1, 6 KOs). Although promoter Frank Warren has hinted that "a major title will be on the line," no specific championship has been named. For Garner, 26, this main event represents a significant milestone and a stepping stone toward bigger ambitions.
Garner last entered the ring in July, handing Archie Sharp his first professional defeat with a ten-round points victory. Now, facing another unbeaten opponent promises to test Garner’s mettle and further establish him as a rising force in the division.
Jimenez, two years older at 28, boasts a record free of defeat, with his sole blemish being a draw to Juanfe Gomez in 2023. He has since secured two stoppage victories, yet he faces new territory fighting outside of Spain for the first time.
For Garner, this fight carries more than just the lure of a belt. With talk already swirling about the possibility of a summertime showdown at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium, a victory here could open the door to a major homecoming event.
