Marking her return to the title scene, the former WBC champion Kim Clavel (17-1, 3 KOs) is gearing up to confront the formidable two-time IBF and WBO 108-pound boxer Evelin Bermudez (18-1-1, 6 KOs) at Place Bell, Laval, Quebec City, Canada.
Despite facing a setback earlier this year with a unanimous loss to Jessica Nery Plata, Clavel remains undeterred. “I've been tested, molded, but now, I’m unstoppable,” she said, expressing gratitude towards Bermudez for the title opportunity and rallying Quebec to rally behind her.
On the other hand, Bermudez will be defending her title for the first time since regaining her crown. The Argentinian champ’s past includes a title loss to Yokasta Valle, only to re-establish herself with a win over the then-undefeated Tania Enriquez. This bout with Clavel is a significant milestone for Bermudez – her tenth title fight and third outside her home country.
Emphasizing her champion spirit, Bermudez acknowledged Clavel’s prowess but remained confident, stating, “Though she fights on her turf, I come with Argentinian pride. Expect a thrilling display, and I plan to keep my belts.”
