Callum Simpson

Callum Simpson is a British professional boxer competing in the super middleweight division. He was born on October 16, 1996, in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England. Growing up in Barnsley, Simpson initially pursued football, playing for Dodworth Miners Welfare F.C., where his father served as manager. At the age of 10, he transitioned to boxing, training at the Barnsley Star Boxing Club under coach Trevor Schofield. During his amateur career, Simpson achieved a record of 38 wins in 53 bouts, securing multiple regional titles as well as the English Light Heavyweight title.

Simpson made his professional debut in June 2019, winning by points against Elvis Dube. He continued to build his resume with notable victories, including a second-round TKO over Ben Ridings in October 2022, which earned him the Central Area super middleweight title. In February 2023, Simpson signed an exclusive promotional deal with Boxxer and Sky Sports, further elevating his profile in the boxing community. He captured the British and Commonwealth super middleweight titles in August 2024 with a unanimous decision victory over Zak Chelli at Oakwell Stadium in his hometown of Barnsley.

He successfully defended his titles in January 2025, defeating Steed Woodall via a second-round TKO in Sheffield. Simpson continued his winning streak with a fifth-round stoppage of Elvis Ahorgah in February 2025 at Wembley Arena.

Simpson is deeply connected to his roots in Barnsley and is a lifelong supporter of Barnsley F.C. He has actively participated in charitable endeavors, particularly supporting Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice by raising funds through raffles and donations. In August 2024, Simpson faced personal tragedy when his younger sister, Lily-Rae, died in a road accident while abroad in Greece.
